Bo’s story of amputation because of bone cancer
Bo, an 8 year old Lab mix, had amputation of a front leg because of cancer (osteosarcoma) in his left radius. His owners and his vet were concerned about him being able to walk because of his large size. I reassured them that 90% of amputees do good to great.
3 weeks after surgery, at the time of staple removal, Bo’s vet writes: “Bo is doing wonderfully at home. The owners are amazed at how well he is getting around - from the moment he went home. The surgical site looks great.”
