Happiness after surgery for ongoing bladder infections
Bella, a 4 year old Lab, had bladder infection after bladder infection. The reason was a “redundant vulvar fold,” ie an extra skin fold that covered part of her vulva. She had “cosmetic” surgery to remove the extra skin (called vulvoplasty or episioplasty).
Her owner PD writes: “Dr. Zeltzman, Back in August 2016, you did a vulvoplasty on our Lab, Bella, at Brodheadsville Veterinary Clinic. She had a huge fold of skin covering her private area, causing frequent UTIs & some behavioral issues. (…)
I am ecstatic to say......Bella has not had a UTI since August!! Yay!!”
