Happy news 5 months after Kirra’s TPLO surgery
Kirra, a 10 year old, 47 pound Terrier, had a TPLO to address a torn ACL. Five months after surgery, her owner JM writes:
“Dear Dr. Zeltzman, It has been 5 months since Kirra's TPLO surgery to repair her torn left ACL. She is doing extremely well. A stranger would never know she had the surgery. We followed your instructions. (…)
She does not exhibit any signs of pain. She is quick to rise from a down position. She continues to eat well. She enjoys her walks and, unfortunately, still likes to chase anything that moves. With the weather becoming warm she loves to lay in the yard (fenced).
Prior to her surgery we had walked approximately 2 miles a day. Our longest walk to date would be about three good sized blocks. She tires easily, but then again she will be eleven this year. We exercise about 3 to 4 times a day. We take our time and she usually lets me know when she has had enough. She has not needed any medication. (…)
Thank you again for the excellent care you and your staff provided for Kirra.”
