Jace's Story of Torn ACL and TPLO
Jace, a 5 year old German Shepherd, had a TPLO to address a torn ACL ligament in his knee. He was a challenge because he had a severe skin condition and infection. A few months after surgery, his owner JS writes:
“Hi Dr. Zeltzman - I hope all is well - just wanted to let you know that Jace has been recovering very nicely from the knee operation you performed on him back in 2012. We kept him on a leash longer than required as we wanted to wait until all snow and ice disappeared so he's been leash free at times for about 1 and 1/2 months. He seems to be doing well - I don't think he's quite as full strength with that knee and I'm not sure he ever will be but he is doing just fine. He also has started allergy shots in order to keep the skin under control. He is allergic to 12 different things outside!”
