Gracie's Story of Laryngeal Collapse
Gracie, a 10 year old French bulldog, had a very serious condition called laryngeal collapse. This is the end stage of brachycephalic syndrome, ie the consequence of having a flat face, narrow nostrils etc. She had surgery (a tie back) as an attempt to open up her airway. She recovered even better than expected. Five months after surgery, her owner BG writes:
“Hi Dr. Zeltzman, (…) Just wanted to let you know that Gracie, our Frenchie, is doing fine since her surgery. She's returned to her usual routine and is back to walking a couple of miles at a time. We are so grateful that you gave our little girl back to us. All the best.”
